Melissa Short
I started in property management in 2011 before stepping out and opening my own agency in 2019. I can honestly say I am so excited to be in this market and offering a unique style or way of doing things in property management.
Going back in time (just a little!), after earning a Bachelor of Commerce from Otago University I left to live overseas where I ended up staying for 10 years. My background is in business and customer service. I have enjoyed working as a consultant for a variety of companies during my career; leading investment banks and telecommunications companies, Microsoft Corporation and The Lawn Tennis Association – all in Britain. Returning to New Zealand I worked for the Department of Corrections as an analyst and then Pillars – a charity focussed on building positive futures for children of prisoners.
I have made my home in all sorts of weird and wonderful places; a canal boat in London, an ashram in India, in the cab of a 50-wheeler truck as I delivered freight around the United States. Now my home is with my partner and our three sons in a small villa in Nelson and it is without a doubt, the happiest of them all.
